In July, the IEF and OneEgg visited Blessman International’s Mountain View Farm and the Del Cramer Centre in Mokopane, Limpopo, South Africa — witnessing first-hand the positive results of collaboration in action.
The visit coincided with the delivery of 1,680 Hy-Line Silver Brown pullets, again generously donated by Hy-Line International. With a total farm capacity of 3,000 layers, this marks a significant step towards increasing egg production to strengthen Blessman International’s nutrition outreach.
Expanding Capacity and Impact
Earlier this year, IEF and OneEgg committed to supporting the farm’s development by equipping the fourth layer barn and contributing to feed costs. This investment enables full utilisation of the farm’s capacity and effectively doubles egg production.
The increased output directly supports Blessman International’s community nutrition initiatives, providing a sustainable source of high-quality protein for local children and families.
Feeding and Education Through Partnership
At the Del Cramer after-school centre, children receive a nutritious meal each day — including an egg five times a week. These eggs play a vital role in supporting healthy growth and early childhood development.
During the visit, the IEF team and OneEgg assisted with placing the new pullets into their housing and spent time with children at the Del Cramer Centre, highlighting the close connection between farm production and community wellbeing.
Collaboration for Sustainable Change
This partnership between Blessman International, OneEgg, Hy-Line International and IEF demonstrates the power of collaboration in achieving long-term, community-led solutions.
By combining resources and expertise, the project strengthens both local food security and education outcomes, creating lasting opportunities for the next generation.
IEF extends sincere thanks to the Blessman International team for their dedication to child nutrition and community development, and to Hy-Line International for their continued generosity and support.
