About the IEF

The IEF was established in 2014 as an independent charitable organisation and is registered in both the UK and USA.  Founded by the global egg community through the International Egg Commission (IEC) the IEF is a fully independent charitable foundation working to help ensure eggs are an accessible and affordable form of nutritious, high-quality protein in under-nourished communities, specifically in low and medium-income countries.

Working from the ground up, our vision is to create a sustainable food supply and self-sufficiency. To achieve this, we work alongside reputable organisations and foundations providing financial support, technical expertise and facilitating the sharing of knowledge to help ensure high-quality protein is accessible to everybody regardless of who they are or where they live.

IEF’s status as an independent charitable foundation allows us to interact with a wide range of collaborators to maximise the reach and impact of our programmes.

Our Objectives

Our Principles

Focus

Our primary beneficiaries are women and children in the developing world. Our focus is development, taking into consideration local commercial production and context.

Integrity

As a multi-national registered charity* we have the highest standards for ourselves, our partners, our donors and our products.

IEF Identity

We are an apolitical, not-for-profit, non-discriminatory, inclusive facilitator and project manager. We work through our partners for the empowerment of people of all races, countries, and creeds.

"The IEF has a proven track record of bringing hope to those in need by making eggs available in some of the most nutritionally vulnerable communities around the world."
