Developing Expertise
The IEF is dedicated to sharing the collective knowledge and expertise of the global egg industry to empower nutritionally vulnerable communities and maximize the benefits of eggs through education and training.
Training not only enables the expansion of local production and consumption of eggs but also creates new jobs and supports disadvantaged individuals to become sustainable operators in the value chain.
The IEF has a range of training and knowledge transfer programmes aimed at supporting increased egg production in these regions by providing practical technical training to participants, enhancing their understanding of essential egg production processes.

In addition, we are proud to support and endorse the work of Ebenezer Africa, an organisation dedicated to equipping young people in rural Africa with the skills, knowledge and values they need to build sustainable livelihoods through agriculture.
As part of our ongoing work with Ebenezer Africa, the IEF facilitates Global Egg Schools for students across Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe, providing tailored training in poultry care and egg farming. Together with project partners, we have also helped support the development and recent expansion of the Ebenezer Poultry Training Facility in Mozambique, creating enhanced opportunities for students to gain practical experience in sustainable egg production, poultry management and enterprise development.
“At Lohmann Breeders, we believe in education as a sustainable tool to improve lives. Partnering with the IEF on the Global Egg Schools project, we’ve seen firsthand how it positively impacts communities. We’re grateful to play a role in making a difference for those in need.”
