John joined the IEF in 2023, eager to impact the lives of countless children and provide future generations an endowment of plentiful nutrition and self-sufficiency through eggs.

As President of the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY). he was responsible for the administration of all Association programmes and activities, also serving as President of the U.S. Poultry & Egg Harold E. Ford Foundation (USPOULTRY Foundation).

John has a wealth of experience in the substantial growth and development of both the Association and the Foundation. During Starkey’s tenure, the Foundation conducted its first capital campaign, raising approximately $11 million. These funds, when combined with previous funds donated to the Foundation by USPOULTRY, allowing the Foundation to award up to $1 million per year in student recruiting and research grants to academic institutions across the United States in perpetuity.
