Dr. Pierre-Marie Borne

Dr. Pierre-Marie Borne is a veterinarian, having graduated from the Lyon Veterinary School in 1988. He has extensive experience working with smallholder farmers in developing nations across Africa and Asia, where he has provided expertise and assistance to build local competencies, both commercially and through previous charitable roles.

Pierre-Marie joined Ceva Santé Animale in 1992, holding various roles including Global Technical Services Director, Biological Business Unit Director, and Director of Commercial Operations for the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa. For the past eight years, he has overseen Ceva’s zoonotic disease strategy and more recently served as the Public Affairs Director for Africa and the Middle East.

Since 2022, Dr. Borne has also served as Director of the Ceva Wildlife Research Fund, a charitable organisation focussed on applied research programmes in animal health for wildlife. Additionally, from 2009 to 2015, he was a board member of GALVmed, a charity that implements livestock health projects for smallholder farmers in developing countries.

Dr. Borne has considerable international experience in animal health and has developed an extensive network of contacts, particularly within the animal health sector working to improve animal production in developing countries.
